Physiotherapy as an occupation aims at improving occupational therapy and health-specific treatment methods, by using a multidisciplinary and holistic assessment methods specific to physiotherapy after the diagnosis by a physician in order to increase the quality of health and life of patients with issues in the musculoskeletal system, all kinds of injuries, diseases, aging, pain and dysfunctions. A physiotherapist is a healthcare worker who gains the knowledge and skills to plan and apply the right exercise prescriptions to patients.
Nowadays, physiotherapists deal with increasing number of approaches in order to improve the quality of life related to independent movements and health in all situations where motions and functions are threatened for various reasons. The current and future needs of societies in the world make the development of the physiotherapy inevitable.
The physiotherapy and rehabilitation training program (four years) provides the comprehensive knowlegde and applicable skills in the fields of: basic sciences specific to physiotherapy and rehabilitation, clinical sciences, vocational courses, research methodology and other supportive elective courses and clinical study.
The graduates' employment opportunities include: orthopedics and traumatology, neurology / pediatric neurology, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, brain and nerve surgery, general surgery, cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, thoracic diseases, pediatric diseases, urology, oncology, gynecology, ear-nose-throat, all intensive care services, plastic surgery services, burn units, rheumatology departments in national and international treatment centers, universities, government, special education and rehabilitation centers, prosthesis-orthotic production and rehabilitation centers etc. They can perform private or public duties in primary health care institutions, industrial areas, schools, sports clubs, nursing homes, vocational rehabilitation centers and spa centers, branch centers, home care centers.
The graduates can continue their education in Master of Science program, Doctorate (PhD) program and receive the scientific title.
